　　There have been many great inventions that change the way we live. The first great ___1___ was one that is still very important today-the wheel. 　　2. C。该题用语法分析法。本句中的it是形式宾语，真正的宾语是后面的动词不定式短语to carry heavy things and to travel long distances。
